Boise State Presents 2009 BFA Thesis Exhibition ‘Resound’ Nov. 14-Dec.9, with an Opening Reception Nov. 13

An exhibition highlighting the achievements and visions of 11 Bachelor of Fine Arts candidates opens Nov. 14 in the Visual Arts Center at Boise State University. A free reception with refreshments will be held Friday, Nov. 13, from 6-8 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Building (Gallery 1) and the Hemingway Western Studies Center (Gallery 2), with free parking available in the Liberal Arts parking lot between the Liberal Arts Building and the Student Union Building. The exhibition will be on display Nov. 14-Dec. 9.

Boise State Theatre Arts Department Presents Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ Nov. 12-22

The Boise State University Department of Theatre Arts will present Shakespeare’s classic “As You Like It” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12-14 and 18-21 and 2 p.m. Nov. 15 and 22 at the Danny Peterson Theatre in the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts. Admission is $15 general, $12 for non-Boise State students, Boise State alumni, members of the military and seniors, $9 each for groups of 10 or more, and free for Boise State students, faculty and staff. Talking Broncos Take First Two Tournaments of Season in a Similar Fashion

The Talking Broncos walked away with overall team sweepstakes at the Golden Eagle Invitational in Twin Falls, Sept. 25-26 and again topped an impressive field of 28 teams at the Pioneer Invitational, hosted by Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Ore., Oct. 9-11.

Boise State’s Tunnel of Oppression to Raise Awareness of Discrimination Nov. 6-7

The Tunnel of Oppression, a visual, theatrical and interactive production, will return to Boise State University for its fifth year from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 6 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 7 in the Student Union Hatch Ballroom. Admission is free and open to the public and tours will begin every 30 minutes, with a break at noon. To register for a specific time, visit http://culturalcenter.boisestate.edu/tunnel/. This year’s theme is “Unlearning.”

Boise State College of Business and Economics Gets Half-Million Dollar Gift to Help Fund New Building

Boise State University has received a $500,000 commitment from a local business owner to help construct the new College of Business and Economics building.

Native American Author Gyasi Ross to Speak at Boise State

Gyasi Ross, a Native American lawyer, warrior, teacher, entrepreneur and author, will speak at Boise State University at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, in the Student Union Hatch C Ballroom. His address, titled “Beyond Guilt: Political Correctness as a Weapon,” is free and open to the public. November is national Native American Awareness Month.

Idaho Landscapes Fall Edition Features Idaho’s Museums and Their Collections

The Fall 2009 edition of Idaho Landscapes: History, Science and Art was recently released by The Center for Idaho History and Politics at Boise State University, Idaho State University and the Idaho State Historical Society.
