News Release BOISE STATE NEWS / January 9, 2009 February 15 is Application Deadline for Scholarship Consideration at Boise State The deadline is approaching for new and transfer students who wish to apply for scholarships to Boise State University for the fall 2009 semester. In order to be automatically considered for Boise State scholarships, students must submit all admission materials to the Admissions Office no later than Feb. 15. A completed application package consists of: • Completed application available online at http://admissions.boisestate.edu/applying.htm • $40 non-refundable, one-time application fee • Official high school and/or college transcripts (or GED score) • ACT or SAT scores if you are under 21 years of age Completed applications will automatically be considered for scholarships at Boise State if a student has a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Students and families are also strongly encouraged to complete the 2009-2010 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by Feb. 15 to be considered for need-based scholarships. Scholarships are competitive and academic credentials will be compared to those of all other qualified applicants. The online FAFSA application is found at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The financial aid deadline for current Boise State students is March 15. Students who apply early have the best chance of being eligible for many limited types of federal aid. Early applicants also stand a better chance of ensuring that their funding is available when classes begin in the fall. Apply today at www.fafsa.ed.gov or call 426-1664.
