News Release EVENT NEWS / January 15, 2009 Visual Arts Center at Boise State University Presents 'Silver Lining' by Artist Angie Zielinski The Visual Arts Center at Boise State University will exhibit “Silver Lining: Recent Drawings and a New Installation” by Angie Zielinski from Jan. 20-Feb. 17. The exhibition will be displayed in Gallery 2 of the VAC, located in the Hemingway Western Studies Center. A free opening reception will take place from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 30 in the gallery. Zielinski is a cross-disciplinary artist, pulling from the influence of abstraction while exploring the possibilities of installation. She received a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Millikin University in Illinois and a master’s of fine arts from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Zielinski’s work has been shown nationally in juried and solo exhibitions. In 2007 she took a position as assistant professor of art at Idaho State University in Pocatello. Her current work investigates events that can be interpreted as celebratory or violent, depending on personal and cultural beliefs. Through the manipulation of materials and attention to intimate details, Zielinski explores specific aspects of these events and actions.
