Boise State College of Business and Economics Links Students, Alums in Special Two-Day Event

In these tough economic times, a group of Boise State alumni are helping to mentor students through sharing their personal career development stories. Company presidents, vice presidents, directors and managers will participate in the two-day networking event, Feb. 23-24, presented by Boise State University's College of Business and Economics.

“Lessons from Alumni: linking our past with your future” will include 37 panelists from 25 different companies. The event will feature a kick-off breakfast at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23. Boise State alumni and company representatives will be greeted by Pat Shannon, dean of the college; Dave Cooper, Cooper Norman will share the importance of being an involved alumnus; and Paul Hiller, executive director of the Boise Valley Economic Partnership, will address issues surrounding the current state of the economy. The breakfast is sponsored by Cooper Norman and co-sponsored by the Boise State Alumni Association.

The event will conclude with a networking reception from 4-7 p.m. Feb. 24. The reception offers employers an opportunity to share information with students in round-table format.
