News Release COLLEGE NEWS RELEASE / February 17, 2009 Boise State College of Business and Economics Links Students, Alums in Special Two-Day Event In these tough economic times, a group of Boise State alumni are helping to mentor students through sharing their personal career development stories. Company presidents, vice presidents, directors and managers will participate in the two-day networking event, Feb. 23-24, presented by Boise State University's College of Business and Economics. “Lessons from Alumni: linking our past with your future” will include 37 panelists from 25 different companies. The event will feature a kick-off breakfast at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23. Boise State alumni and company representatives will be greeted by Pat Shannon, dean of the college; Dave Cooper, Cooper Norman will share the importance of being an involved alumnus; and Paul Hiller, executive director of the Boise Valley Economic Partnership, will address issues surrounding the current state of the economy. The breakfast is sponsored by Cooper Norman and co-sponsored by the Boise State Alumni Association. The event will conclude with a networking reception from 4-7 p.m. Feb. 24. The reception offers employers an opportunity to share information with students in round-table format. Reception sponsors include Wells Fargo (founding sponsor), Northwestern Mutual Financial, Eide Bailly and URS, Washington Division.
