News Release February 18, 2009 Media advisory Who: Boise State University’s Public Policy Center and Social Science Research Center; Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force What: Public release of ‘Idaho Hunger Atlas: A County-Level Profile of Hunger in Idaho’ When: 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 19 Where: Bishop’s House at St. Michael’s Cathedral, 518 N. 8th St., on the corner of 8th and State streets. A new county-by-county assessment of hunger in Idaho shows the national economic crisis has deepened hunger and food insecurity in Idaho. Details of the pilot study, “Idaho Hunger Atlas: A County-Level Profile of Hunger in Idaho,” will be announced at a press conference at St. Michael’s Cathedral Bishop’s House Thursday at 11:30 a.m. The study, commissioned by the Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force and conducted by Boise State University’s Public Policy Center and Social Science Research Center, is intended to help Idahoans gain a greater understanding of the extent and depth of food insecurity and hunger throughout the state.
