Art Professor Stephanie Bacon to Speak at Dedication of Her
Art for the Collister Branch Library
Stephanie Bacon, a professor in the Department of Art at Boise State
University, will speak about new artwork she created for the Collister
Branch Library from 6-7:30 p.m. March 19. The lecture will be at the
library, located in the Collister Shopping Center at 4724 W. State Street.
The event is free and open to the public.
Bacon’s work was commissioned by the Boise City Arts Commission. Her
project, “The Museum and Farm of Ideas,” includes photos, drawn images,
handwritten papers and stenciled numbers collaged together. The Boise City
Arts Commission says, “The art alludes to traditional ornamentation on civic
buildings and references indices, numerologies, lists, sets and mnemonics
(that) constitute schemata, or programmatic structures for the transmission
of knowledge.”
