April Fettuccine Forum Looks at Idaho Film Industry
Independent filmmaker Kathleen Haase will speak on “We Ought to be in
Pictures: Hollywood in Idaho” at the April Fettuccine Forum. The free event
is April 3 in the Rose Room on the historic Union Block, 718 W. Idaho
Street. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the presentation begins at 5:30 p.m.,
followed by questions. Free appetizers will be served and fettuccine will be
available for $5.
Haase is a film industry specialist for the Idaho Film Office. In that role,
she supervises and facilitates media production activity for the state,
developing programs to stimulate production and enhance Idaho’s crew base.
Haase also produced “IBID,” an independent feature film shot in Idaho that
will be in competition at the 2008 South by Southwest Film Festival. In
2002, she founded Cherry Road Films, an independent film production company.
The forum also features a companion workshop titled “Art and Culture,”
taught by Karen Bubb of the Boise City Arts Commission and Boise State’s
Nancy Tacke. Participants can register for the workshop, offered for

The forum is co-sponsored by Boise State University’s Center for Idaho
History and Politics and the Boise City Department of Arts and History. The
Fettuccine Forum is an educational forum about the history and cultural life
of Boise and the Treasure Valley. The final speaker for this season is
historian Barbara Perry Bauer, who will speak May 1 on “Once Upon the Trolly:
Boise’s Electric Road.” The accompanying workshop will be “Boise’s Historic
Streetscape,” taught by Bauer.

College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs at Boise State and Grape
