Artist Susannah Israel to Teach Ceramics Workshop at Boise
State University
Artist Susannah Israel will lead a ceramic workshop from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
April 2-3 in Room 150 of Boise State University’s Liberal Arts Building. The
workshop is $25 and one credit is available for participants through the
Division of Extended Studies.
Israel received her MFA in 2000 from San Francisco State University, where
she worked with David Kuraoka, Steve DeStaebler and Joe Hawley. She lives
and works in her studio at the Vulcan warehouse in Oakland and teaches at
Laney College.
Israel has been an artist-in-residence at Archie Bray in Montana, Gladding
McBean in California and Mission Clay in Kansas. Her work is in the American
Ceramics Collection of the Mint Museum, North Carolina, and has been in
numerous solo and group exhibitions. To learn more about her work, visit

Ceramic workshops have been a long tradition at Boise State University.
Recent visiting artists include Harris Deller, Susan Harris, Arthur
Gonzalez, Josh Deweese, Yoshiro and Esther Ikeda, John Neely, Doug Casebeer,
Eva Kwong, Chris Staley, John Ballistreri, Brad Schweiger, Robert Brady,
Lydia Quezada & Rito Talevera, Richard Notkin, Robert Piepenberg, Stan
Welsh, Tom Coleman, David Furman, Susan Filley, and Jamie Walker.
The workshops are made possible by the BSU Art Department’s bi-annual “Clay
