Boise State Week-Long Program for Managers Will Feature Astronaut, Educator Barbara Morgan

The Boise State University Center for Professional Development will present the 25th anniversary of “The Strategic Experience: A Program for Management Development” May 11-16 at the Sun Valley Lodge in Sun Valley. Barbara Morgan, a former NASA astronaut and distinguished educator in residence at Boise State, will be the keynote speaker.

The residential leadership development program is designed for high-potential managers and business owners. An early registration discount is available until April 3.

Successful leaders do more than manage functions; they lead people, define and implement strategies, and achieve results. The program’s content and delivery is designed for managers and owners who want or need to develop a broader-based understanding of the different business functions and how the business forces interact. Participants leave with new methods and tools to execute enterprise-wide and make strategic decisions that affect their businesses in a turbulent marketplace.

Presentations by business experts and practice in decision-making through an online team competition and business simulation prepare participants to lead through the critical changes that affect today’s business environment.

“Boise State’s program provided our company with timely, relevant management and leadership training that I have been able to use extensively,” said Dean Park, prior participant and president of Biomark Inc. “This program teaches knowledge that is more than academic; it can be applied.”

Park will participate in an executive panel as part of this year’s 25th anniversary event, where he and other high-level executives will answer questions from participants.

To receive the early bird rate of $4,450 (a $300 discount), participants must submit a completed application and full fee payment before April 3. Thereafter, the program fee is $4,750. The single fee includes a private room, most meals and all managerial assessments and instructional materials.
