Boise State to Name New Bronco Stadium Addition 'Stueckle Sky
Club'
For Immediate Release/4-22-08/Max Corbet
BOISE, Idaho — The new press box/sky club addition currently
under construction at Boise State University’s Bronco Stadium will be named
the Stueckle Sky Club, the university announced today.
The announcement follows a major contribution to the athletic program by
Boiseans Duane and Lori Stueckle. The Stueckles have committed over $2.5
million to the Bronco athletic program over the past three years. In
addition, the Stueckles have committed approximately $2 million for various
academic programs at the university.
Scheduled for completion this August, the Stueckle Sky Club includes a
state-of-the-art press box, suites, loge boxes and club seats.
The Stueckles have sought to support several programs that help provide
momentum for the university and community, which capitalizes on the
excellence the programs have already achieved.
“We cannot thank the Stueckles enough for the their tremendous support of
the athletic department and the university,” Boise State Director of
Athletics Gene Bleymaier stated.
Duane Stueckle, a Boise businessman and entrepreneur, and his wife Lori have
been major contributors to the community in recent years. Their previous
gifts to Boise State include:
• The establishment in 2005 of the Dean’s Distinguished Professor Award,
which provides supplemental funding to a BSU biology professor conducting
biomedical research.
• The creation in 2006 of an endowed chair in the Department of Biology to
furnish annual support to faculty members involved in research in areas such
as proteins and genes, molecular biology and cell biology.
• A lead supporter to the university’s Caven-Williams Sports Complex, which
opened in early 2006.
• A contribution in 2006 to help renovate and expand the tennis courts in
Julia Davis Park as part of a cooperative effort between Boise State and the
city of Boise.
All told, the Stueckles have contributed over $4.5 million in major gifts to
Boise State.
