Grigg, Bunt Reelected to Head Boise State's Student
Government
Trevor Grigg and Joe Bunt were re-elected president and vice president of
the Associated Students of Boise State University in last week’s student
government elections. The ASBSU inauguration is April 27 and the new senate
convenes for the first time April 28.
Grigg, from Eagle, is a junior majoring in entrepreneurial management; Bunt,
from Boise, is a sophomore majoring in political science. Both are active in
the LDS Student Association and the College Republicans.
Grigg and Bunt received 1,318 of the 1,968 votes cast, or 67 percent. Evan
Meriwether and Chase Johnson came in second with 550 votes. There were also
two write-in candidate teams: Joseph Huxhold and Anthony Podvin, and Mike
Olsen and William Broocks.
Newly elected college senators are: Justin White, College of Arts and
Sciences; Jose Gomez, College of Business and Economics; Cara Mia De Marco,
College of Education; Michael Neilson, College of Engineering; and Laura
Rogers, College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs. Senate seats for the
Graduate College and the College of Health Sciences are currently vacant.
In addition, seven new at-large senators were elected: Matthew Almeida, Reid
Copeland, Aron Henretty, Eliot I, Chase Johnson, Julie Kirk and Samantha
Winkelman.
