Boise State Advancement Office Hires One, Promotes One

Boise State University’s Office of Communications and Marketing has hired a new assistant director of marketing. In addition, the Boise State Foundation’s director of finance was promoted to assistant vice president.

Kathleen Kempton has been promoted to assistant vice president for university advancement at Boise State University. Kempton began working at Boise State in March 2007 as director of finance for the Boise State University Foundation, the university’s official fundraising and gift-giving department. Kempton served for more than 10 years as chief financial officer at Healthwise and was the first vice president and chief financial officer for the Idaho Youth Ranch. She is a certified management accountant and received both her BBA in accounting and her MBA from Boise State.
 

 

Melinda O’Malley Keckler has been hired as the assistant director of marketing for the Office of Communications and Marketing. Keckler comes to Boise State from a position as strategic communications manager for Scott Peyron & Associates. Previous jobs include public information officer for the Idaho Department of Correction and 15 years as a television broadcaster in Boise and Spokane. Keckler was named an “Accomplished Forty Under Forty” by the Idaho Business Review and was a planning committee member and event emcee for St. Vincent de Paul in Boise for several years. She began her new duties at Boise State Aug. 11.
