Boise State Center Offers HR Workshop with Mary Sebek
Boise State University’s Center for Professional Development will sponsor an
HR complaint investigation workshop Oct. 7-9.
Mary L. Sebek, former administrative judge for the U.S. Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission, and Keith Harkless, director of employment practices
and labor relations for J.R. Simplot Co., will co-present the workshop.
Participants will learn to reduce litigation risk by having a clearly
defined and consistently applied complaint investigation process; gain an
understanding of the technical aspects of federal and state EEO legislation
and case law; and acquire tools and build skills in investigating
allegations, interviewing affected individuals, and assessing and presenting
findings.
This workshop is only offered once every two years. It will be held 8:30
a.m.-4:30 p.m. Oct. 7-9 at the Cambria Suites, 2970 W. Elder in Boise. The
cost is $879 per person, including resource materials. Human Resource
Certification Institute and Continuing Legal Education Units approval is
pending.
