Boise State's Global Expressions Series Begins Season with
'Dialogues: Music of the African and Spanish Diaspora'
Boise State University’s Global Expressions Series kicks off the 2008-2009
series with “Dialogues: Music of the African and Spanish Diaspora” at 8 p.m.
Sept. 19 at the Student Union Special Events Center. Tickets are $15
general, $10 Boise State faculty, staff and alumni and $5 students and
seniors through Select-a-Seat. Free parking will be available in the Liberal
Arts, Library and Administration parking lots.
“Dialogues” examines musical connections and their union in the landscape of
the Americas. The performance will include original instrumental
compositions and songs for African instruments and percussion and Spanish
guitar, as well as interpretations of works by African, African-American and
Latin-American composers.
The next Global Expressions performance will be on April 17, when Ache
Brasil will fuse music, dance, martial arts and acrobatics into one
high-energy extravaganza. For more information about the Global Expressions
