Boise State University's Classic Performances Series Begins Sept. 27 with Saxophonist

Single tickets are now on sale for Boise State University’s Classic Performances Series, which begins its season on Sept. 27. Tickets are $12 general, $8 Boise State faculty, staff and alumni, and $5 students and seniors through Select-a-Seat. The performance will be at 8 p.m. in the Special Events Center of the Student Union Building. Free parking will be available in the Liberal Arts, Library and Administration parking lots.

J. Scott Turpen is the director of jazz studies at the University of Wyoming and will be joined by accompanist and colleague Theresa L. Bogard. These award-winning musicians join their passions for jazz and classical music, offering superior entertainment with sophisticated style and complexity. Their CD “Tableaux” was released in 2006 on the ACA Digital label.

The Classic Performances Series will continue on Oct. 11 with pianist Anthony de Mare, the Brass Roots Trio on Nov. 15, the Harlem Quartet on Feb. 28 and the Quartet New Generation on April 18. For more information, call 426-1223.
