Boise State Construction Management Club Named Top in the
Nation by Associated General Contractors
Boise State University’s Construction Management Association (CMA) was named
the top Associated General Contractors (AGC) student chapter in the nation
for its dedication to community and public service projects.
The CMA is the student chapter of AGC, the largest and oldest national
construction trade association in the United States, and serves as the
student club for those studying construction management in Boise State’s
College of Engineering.
“AGC recognizes that hands-on experience is the best way to develop our
future management leaders,” said Stephen E. Sandherr, CEO of AGC. “Our
student chapters represent the future of the construction profession.”
The Boise State CMA was selected because it offers students hands-on
experience and the opportunity to meet construction industry leaders while
also participating in community service projects, such as these recent
projects:
• Construction of a 4,032 square foot greenhouse at Borah High School in
Boise.
• Construction of two 96 square foot sheds for transporting judges of
Special Olympics events in Idaho.
• Collection of concrete tools for students of a civil construction
education program in Cape Verde, Africa.
Boise State’s first-place finish bested chapters from Arizona State
University and Southeast Community College, which came in second and third,
respectively.
AGC of America, in conjunction with AGC’s local chapters, supports over 150
student chapters nationwide. For more information about the CMA visit
