Morrison Center Stage II to be Renamed for Late Boise Actor
Danny Peterson
The Morrison Center Stage II will be renamed in honor of beloved, longtime
Boise actor Danny Peterson during a private ceremony on Oct. 2. The
re-dedication will take place before the opening of “Tragedy: A Tragedy,”
which marks the start of Boise State University’s 2008-2009 Theatre Arts
season.
Peterson, who died in July, was a graduate of the Boise State Department of
Theatre Arts and a founding member of the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. He was
a member of a number of Idaho theatre groups, including the Idaho Theater
for Youth, the Boise Contemporary Theater and the Idaho Repertory Theater.
The re-naming was spearheaded by Department of Theatre Arts chair Richard
Klautsch, a colleague of Peterson’s. Velma Morrison granted the naming
rights in order to rename Stage II the Danny Peterson Theatre.
