Boise State Hosts Election Issues Expert Panels on Immigration, Energy and Environment, The Economy

Immigration will be the topic of an expert panel discussion this Friday, the first of three election-issue expert panels convened by Boise State University’s College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs in the run-up to the Nov. 3 general election.

The panel series, titled “Election 2008: Know the Issues,” will include faculty and community experts, including public officials, in discussions about issues identified by the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs faculty members as central to the election. In addition to immigration, other topics include energy and environment, and the economy. Students and other audience members will be invited to provide questions to the panel during this lively discussion.

“We believe these are the issues at the center of Idahoan’s concerns,” said Stephanie Witt, chair of Boise State’s Department of Public Policy & Administration and director of its Public Policy Center. “Our hope is that this will help the Boise State community make the most informed choice possible as voters.”

Here’s a rundown of all three upcoming issues panels:

  • Immigration – 12:40-1:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3, Boise State Student Union Building, Hatch Ballroom
