News Release EVENT NEWS RELEASE/October 24, 2008 Community Kids Invited to Boise State's 'Haunted Halls' As if messy college dorm rooms weren’t scary enough. Boise State University Housing will host the sixth annual Haunted Halls event from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 31 at Towers Residential Hall at the far west end of campus along Capitol Boulevard. The event is free and open to the public. The event, intended for children ages 3 to 12, will have games, movies, candy and face painting on the first floor of the building, with the upper floors being transformed into a haunted house. The tour will start at the top and get spookier as children descend. All displays are child friendly, but if children do get frightened, they are welcome to take the elevator directly to the main floor. This is the first year that the event will be geared toward children. According to Towers Hall resident director Chad Trisler, the change was made because Towers Hall residents wanted a way to give back to the community. “There are a lot of children in the on-campus apartments and throughout the community that may not have the opportunity to trick-or-treat in a safe environment,” Trisler said. “This event gives them the opportunity to get spooked, hang out with other kids, and get lots of candy.” Free parking will be available. For more information, contact Trisler at 447-1012. -30- Media Contact: Kathleen Craven, University Communications, (208) 426-3275, kcraven@boisestate.edu Boise State University is “The New U Rising” with record student enrollment, new academic buildings, additional degree programs and a growing research agenda.
