News Release Event News Release/October 31, 2008 Boise State Health Fair Encourages You to 'Reach for a Healthier You' at the Jordan Ballroom in Student Union The 12th annual Boise State University REACH health fair will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the Jordan Ballroom in the Boise State Student Union Building. The health fair is free and there will be numerous vendor booths supplying free information on health topics such as nutrition, fitness, environmental safety and massage. Additionally, there will be health screenings including blood pressure, flu shots ($28) and Pneumonia shots ($48). The REACH Health Fair is an annual event that showcases the collaboration of efforts between health promotion professor Caile Spear’s REACH Health Promotion Club, vendors, and the community. Free health-care information and some giveaways will be available to all attendees. Many different aspects of health, including financial, spiritual, physical, mental, social, sexual and environmental, will be represented by a variety of vendors, including Central District Health Department, St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center, Ada County Paramedics, Humphreys Diabetes Center, March of Dimes and Costco. All Boise State faculty and staff will be allowed one hour of release time, with approval of their supervisor, so they may attend the REACH Health Fair. All health fair attendees are eligible to win door prizes throughout the fair. Donated prizes include gift certificates, signed Boise State sports equipment, Boise Burn and Idaho Steelhead tickets, and T-shirts. Free parking is available the day of the event in the parking garage on the corner of University and Lincoln.
