Boise State University Dining Services, Volunteer Services
Board Hold Holiday Canned Food Drive
Boise State University Dining Services and the Volunteer Services Board are
sponsoring a canned food drive through Dec. 14 to benefit the Idaho Food
Bank. Donors can drop off canned food items at University Dining Services
locations throughout campus.
University Dining Services is encouraging Boise State students, faculty,
staff and visitors to bring a canned food item with them every time they
come to campus.
“Our goal is to raise awareness and support for anti-hunger organizations in
the local community,” said Jim Emmons, general manager of University Dining
Services.
The Volunteer Services Board, a student-run organization, and University
Dining Services are holding the drive in response to the problem of hunger
in Idaho and across the United States. According to the Idaho Food Bank, one
in eight Idaho children — 49,570 children — go to bed hungry every night.
For more information, call Emmons at 426-1642.
