ISPE GIVES AWARDS TO OUTSTANDING ENGINEERING JUNIORS AT BOISE STATE
Three Boise State University students were honored during National Engineers Week with Outstanding Junior Level Engineering Student Awards from the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers. The winners, who were honored at an ISPE luncheon last week, were selected from nominations by BSU faculty members in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering. Nominees were chosen based on their grade-point average, class performance, participation in professional organizations and other campus activities. Representatives of ISPE based their final selection on personal interviews and other criteria.
Student winners and runners-up by discipline are:
Civil engineering: Winner — Jenny Harmon, Twin Falls; runner-up — Christina Caruso, Boise.
Electrical engineering: Winner — Enrique Camarillo, Mexico City; runner-up — Darren Young, Nampa.
Mechanical engineering: Winner — Owen Thunes, Boise; runner-up — Holly Staffan, Yakima,Wash.
