FLUTE DAY 2001 FEATURES WORKSHOPS AND FLUTIST TRYGVE PETERSON
Flute Day 2001 will feature workshops for flutists of all ages and ability levels and a recital by master class artist and international performer Trygve Peterson. The programs run from noon-5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10, in the Morrison Center Recital Hall.
Peterson has worked with students at more than 100 schools, universities and flute societies. He has performed as a member of the Connecticut Philharmonic, the New Haven Symphony, the Philharmonica de Caracas, in Austria and Italy with the American Institute of Musical Studies Orchestra, the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, and on European tour with the American Sinfonietta. Guest soloist appearances have included the Chicago, Denver, Washington, Boston, Kansas City and New York conventions of the National Flute Association.
A native of Cheyenne, Wyo., Peterson currently teaches at the Arizona State School of Music. He holds a doctor of musical arts degree from the Juilliard School and a master of music degree from the Yale School of Music.

All workshops are open to any flutist. Young musicians might enjoy the flute choir reading and the recital. The master class and warm-up session are geared toward more advanced students. The recital and master class are appropriate for musicians of all kinds.
Flute Day 2001 is presented by the Boise State music department and the Idaho Flute Society. All workshops and classes are free. Admission to the recital will be $5 general admission, $3 seniors and free to all students and Boise State faculty and staff. For more information, call 426-3980.
