IMPROVISATIONAL COMEDY TROUPE PERFORMS AT BOISE STATE FEB. 24
Improvisational comedy troupe Unexpected Productions will be laughing it up at a 7 p. m. performance Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Boise State University Special Events Center. The troupe will also give a workshop at 2 p.m. in the same location. The workshop is geared toward theater students but anyone may attend.
Unexpected Productions comedy troupe uses spur-of-the-moment improvisation for instant theatrical creations based on audience participation and request. Unexpected Productions theater company is located in the Pike Place Market in Seattle. The company began as the Seattle TheatreSports League — a league of actors competing in improvisational tournaments in which performances are based entirely on audience suggestion and are rated according to successful reaction and pertinence of material. As membership in the TheatreSports League evolved, the troupe grew into Unexpected Productions, a nonprofit organization for competitive acting and community theater workshops.
The evening performance is $4 general admission and $2 for Boise State students, faculty and staff at the door. The workshop is free. For further information, call 426-1223 or visit the Unexpected Productions Web site: http://www.accessone.com/~up/index.html.
