VOICE TEACHER ARTHUR LEVY WILL GIVE MASTER CLASSES AT BOISE STATE

Renowned voice teacher Arthur Levy, who teaches at the Mannes School of Music and privately in New York, will give master classes from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Morrison Center Recital Hall. These master classes are sponsored by the Boise State University music department and are open to anyone interested in performing as a professional or amateur singer.

Levys students, among them Tony Award-winner Audra MacDonald, are singing in major opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera and San Francisco Opera and on Broadway.

In the master classes at Boise State, Levy will be working with 12 area vocalists. Those spots are already filled, but other vocalists and voice teachers are welcome to participate in the classes by observing Levys techniques and asking questions.

Participants may register at the class. The cost is $40 for both sessions or $25 for one session. For students college age and under, the cost is $15 for both sessions and $10 for one session. For more information, call 426-1975.
