MICRON CEO APPLETON TO SPEAK AT BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY
Steve Appleton, CEO of Micron Technology, will speak at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, in the Boise State Student Union Jordan Ballroom A, B & C. Appleton is the third and final speaker in the College of Business and Economics’ Distinguished Speakers Series for 2001.
Appleton is a 1982 graduate of Boise State University, where he played on the Bronco tennis team for four years. He began working at Micron shortly after graduation following an injury that sidelined his pro tennis aspirations. His first job with the company was on the production line, which paid just $4.46 per hour. He quickly worked his way through the ranks and is now credited with being an integral part of the process that positioned Micron as a major player in the international semiconductor market.
Appleton will speak about international business — opportunities, threats, challenges, etc. The event is free and open to the public.
