The Boise State Visual Arts Center will present a retrospective exhibition of prints by the late George F. Roberts, a pioneer in non-toxic printmaking and a longtime professor at Boise State. The exhibition will run Sept. 13 through October 4, in Gallery 2, in the Hemingway Center.

An invitational exhibition of works by outstanding Boise State graduates who studied with Roberts will be open the same dates in Gallery 1 in the Liberal Arts Building.

A closing reception for both exhibitions will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, in both galleries.

Roberts mentored countless students for 31 years and revolutionized printmaking through the development of non-toxic methodology. He recently published a book outlining his processes and techniques. The exhibition will feature a large selection of drawings, paintings, prints and mixed media.

The companion alumni exhibition features works by: Kat Galloway, instructor of art at Eastern Oregon University; Scott Kolbo, assistant professor at Whitworth College; Holly Gilcrist, former instructor of art at Texas Wesleyan University; and Kirsten Furlong, recent master of fine arts graduate and instructor of art at Boise State.

Admission to the reception and the galleries is free. The Visual Arts Center galleries are open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon-5 p.m. Saturday. For more information call 426-3994.
