Join the Treasure Valley Concert Band and the Boise Master
Chorale in a salute to veterans, baseball, Broadway musicals and America. Two
concerts, themed "An American Celebration," will be presented at 7:30
p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Meridian Middle School and 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11,
at the Morrison Center Main Hall. Admission is free for everyone.
Program highlights will include Bernstein’s
"Overture to Candide," Aaron Copland’s set of "Old American
Songs," Melvin Shelton’s "An American Celebration,"
"Gloria for Band and Chorus" by Randol Bass and "The Armed Forces
Salute." The Meridian Middle School Band will also perform at the Nov. 6
concert.
The Treasure Valley Concert Band is directed by Boise
State music professor Marcellus Brown, and the Boise Master Chorale is directed
by Boise State music professor James Jirak.
The concerts are sponsored by Farmers and Merchants State
Bank, with support from the Boise State music department. For more information
