Boise State University’s Student Programs Board
presents the award-winning production "Einstein: A Stage Portrait,"
starring Tom Schuch (pronounced shook) at 7 p.m. on Nov. 15 in the Special
Events Center. Tickets are available at the door, $6 for general admission and
$4 for Boise State students, faculty and staff.
This one character "stage portrait"
focuses on the personal side of the Nobel Prize-winning genius and reveals him
as a complex human being. With startling candor, an impish sense of humor and
flashes of anger, Einstein speaks of his failures, his passions, his
disappointments and his dreams, while at the same time peeling away the mystery
from his renowned theory of relativity.
Tom Schuch is both producer and performer for
this production. His desire to portray this complicated role stemmed from his
own research on Einstein, where he discovered "the three most important
things in Einstein’s life were his work, his violin and his sailboat."
His personal interest and an intricate, well-researched script all added up to a
great acting challenge for Schuch.
Previous productions of this play have garnered
positive reviews. More information on the play and Tom Schuch can be found at www.spoli.com.
