The Boise State University Aikido Club and the
Eclipse Foundation present a public talk titled "Finding Meaning in
Life" by Tulku Thubten Rinpoche at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, in the Student
Union Hatch Ballroom. A $6 donation or a $5 student/faculty donation is
suggested at the door.
This will be Rinpoche’s first visit to Boise.
He is a Nyingma Lama from Tibet, who has lived in the United States for over ten
years and speaks fluent English. He currently resides in Hawaii and is the
director of the Buddha Mandala Foundation. He is active in translating rare
Tibetan texts, and is an avid writer and teacher of Tibetan calligraphy, poetry
and astrology. His study of western culture, philosophy and religion provide him
with the unique ability to express Buddhist doctrine in a way that can be easily
understood to Western students of Buddhism, whether beginner or advanced.
This talk is an opportunity to meet an authentic
Tibetan Lama and is suitable for anyone interested in spirituality, regardless
of religion or for those interested in better understanding the Buddhist outlook
on life that transcends sectarian views.
Rinpoche will also give a workshop on Nov. 9 and
10. For information on the content of the shop and how to register, email eclipse@rasa-designs.com.
