BOISE STATE LECTURE LOOKS AT ARTISTS AND
GALLERIES
The Boise State University Renaissance Institute will
present its final lecture of the fall season from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.
19, at the Stewart Gallery, 1322 W. Main St. in Boise.
The lecture, titled "Artists, Art Galleries and Art
Lovers," will explore how the three elements interact. Stephanie Wilde, an
active, self-taught artist who specializes in printmaking, and her husband, Lane
S. Bune, will discuss the role of the gallery in researching artists and
displaying their work. The couple opened Stewart Gallery 16 years ago.
Following the lecture, Wilde and Bune will lead a guided
gallery tour to help participants appreciate the displayed pieces and to provide
insight into the criteria used to evaluate works of art.
The Renaissance Institute is geared toward learners age 50
and beyond. Cost is $10 for non-Institute members or free for members.
A new series of lectures and seminars will begin in
January. For more information, call 426-1709 or visit the Web site at http://www.boisestate.edu/extendedstudies/renaissance/indexrenaissance.html
