PROGRAM, BIRTHDAY RECEPTION HONORS C. GRIFFITH BRATT

A concert, video presentation and birthday reception in honor of C. Griffith Bratt, who served as chair of the Boise State University music department for 24 years and as organist at St. Michael’s Cathedral for 52 years, will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, in the sanctuary at St. Michael’s, 518 North 8th Street.

The program is presented by the Les Bois chapter of the American Guild of Organists and is free to the public. Earlier publicity listed the date for the program as Nov. 21; organizers subsequently changed the date to Nov. 22.

John C. Bostron, an adjunct music professor at Boise State and organist at St. Stephen’s Cathedral, will perform Bratt’s composition for organ, "Fantasia on Ein Feste Burg." The program will also feature a documentary about Bratt’s life and career produced several years ago by Idaho Public Television. A reception will follow in honor of Bratt’s 88th birthday.
