AUDITIONS SCHEDULED FOR ‘VAGINA MONOLOGUES’
AT BOISE STATE
Auditions for "The Vagina Monologues" will be
held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, in the
Boise State University Student Union Lookout Room. Auditions are open to women
of all ages and ethnicities. Attendance is required at only one audition, which
will involve a cold reading.
"The Vagina Monologues" will be presented Feb.
14-16 in the Boise State Special Events Center. This is the third year in a row
the Boise State Women’s Center has sponsored this event.
The play is based on hundreds of interviews conducted by
playwright Eve Ensler with everyday women. She asked them questions about their
bodies and more specifically about their vaginas; the monologues are frank,
honest responses from everyday women that allow audiences to examine some of the
lessons women are taught about their bodies, its functions and their sexuality.
