BOISE STATE FOUNDATION RAISES $191,000 DURING
PHONATHON 2002
With the highest number of pledges in six years, the Boise
State Foundation raised more that $191,000 during "Phonathon 2002,"
the university announced.
All of the money raised during the annual fund drive is
used to enhance academic scholarships and programs at Boise State.
More than 3,600 alumni, employees and friends — the most
since 1996 — pledged contributions to the fund drive, which is operated and
administered by the Foundation.
"Thanks to the hard work of our 87 dedicated student
callers, we attempted to reach more than 59,000 alumni and friends of the
university and contacted 14,135 of them," said Brandon Smith, Boise State
Foundation director of annual giving. "The three groups that have the
greatest impact in supporting the annual fund-raising campaign are Boise State’s
faculty and staff, the university’s alumni and our friends. Our contributors
were well represented by all of these groups."
The amount raised during Phonathon 2002 surpassed the 2001
drive by $23,000.
