Boise State Graphic Art Students to host Portfolio Show

The Boise State University graphic arts department will host “i candy,” a graphic design and illustration portfolio show, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at the Powerhouse Event Center, 621 S. 17th St. in Boise.
McRay Magleby will be the featured guest speaker at 7 p.m. Magleby, formerly the creative director for Brigham Young University, now teaches graphic design at the University of Utah and manages his own studio, Magleby and Company, at his home in Provo, Utah.
Over the years Magleby and his staff have produced hundreds of award-winning publications. He was named Designer of the Decade by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education and his Wave of Peace poster was voted the “Most Memorable Poster in the World” by design professionals in 40 countries (an image of Wave of Peace, is available at http://news.boisestate.edu). Magleby was also cited by How magazine as one of today’s 12 Most Influential Designers.
