March 12 — “A Clockwork Orange”
Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation of Anthony Burgess’ 1962 satiric novel presents the viewer with a controversial parable — how can evil be eradicated in modern society? Free will versus predestination, societal controls and the effects of technology on society are some themes of this film.
Rated R.
March 19 — “The Breakfast Club”
One of the movies most associated with the 1980s, John Hughe’s teen comedy is about adventure, life and identity crisis. A group of five high school students are forced to spend a Saturday morning together in detention. At first, the characters disassociate themselves from each other, but as the day progresses, they come together as they share adventures such as dodging the principal, trying weed and discussing life. Rated R.
