BERG, KLINE LAMAR PERFORM AT BOISE STATE FACULTY ARTIST SERIES
Violist Linda Kline Lamar and baritone Lynn Berg will present a concert for voice and viola along with pianist Del Parkinson at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, in the Morrison Center Recital Hall. The concert is part of the Boise State University Faculty Artist Series.
Berg will open the program with selected French songs by Venezuelan-born composer Reynaldo Hahn with pianist Del Parkinson. Linda Kline Lamar will follow with “Passacaglia on an Old English Tune” by Rebecca Clark. The evening will continue with eight songs for solo baritone and solo viola by composer Daniel Pinkham and will conclude with “Four Songs for Voice, Viola, and Piano” written by Charles Loeffler.
Kline Lamar, a music professor who performs with Boise State’s Les Bois Piano Quartet, previously played with the Memphis Symphony and was a faculty member at Rhodes College, the Rhodes College Chamber Music Camp and the University of Memphis. Berg, Boise State professor of voice and opera theatre, is well known throughout the Intermountain West as a concert and opera singer. Parkinson, also a Boise State music professor, performs regularly in Boise and throughout the Northwest and has performed with various other symphonies throughout the country.
Admission for the concert is $5 general, $3 seniors and free to students and Boise State faculty and staff. For information, call 426-3980.
