UNIVERSITY SINGERS INVITE NEW MEMBERS TO REHEARSAL

People who enjoy singing and performing are invited to join the new season of University Singers at Boise State University. The first rehearsal is 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in Room C215 of the Morrison Center. New singers are welcome at any of the first three practices in January. Rehearsals are held Tuesday nights from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m.

University Singers is open to community members and Boise State students, alumni, faculty and staff. No previous choral experience is necessary, only an interest in learning more about vocal technique, sight-reading and musicianship in an enjoyable and supportive environment. Parking permits will be provided for members of the group.

University Singers will be conducted by Boise State music professor Giselle Wyers, who joined Boise State last year as assistant professor of choral activities. Before coming to Boise State, Wyers was the interim conductor of the University of Arizona Symphonic Choir. Wyers, who holds a doctorate in musical arts, also has directed professional choruses and choirs, and has served as a professor at other Northwest colleges, including Lewis and Clark College and Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.
