ISPE GIVES AWARDS TO OUTSTANDING ENGINEERING JUNIORS AT BOISE STATE FOR ’02
Four Boise State University students were honored during National Engineers Week with the 2002 Outstanding Junior Level Engineering Student Awards from the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE). Winners were selected based on nominations received from faculty members in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering.
Nominees were chosen based on their grade-point average, class performance, participation in professional organizations and other campus activities. Representatives of ISPE based their final selection on personal interviews and other criteria.
Student winners and runners-up by discipline were:
Civil engineering: Winner — Elsa Saldivar, Battle Mountain, Nev. Runner-up — Robert Ward, Garden Valley
Electrical engineering: Winner — Matthew Leslie, Caldwell. Runner-up — Nathan Stutzke, Clark Fork.
Mechanical engineering: Winner (tie) — Melissa Ray, Orofino and Edwin Brown, Vallejo, Calif.
