Boise Chamber Leadership Conference to be Aired on NPR News 91

In a cooperative effort with the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, NPR News 91 will broadcast the keynote addresses of the ninth annual Leadership Conference held recently in Sun Valley. The conference theme was “Responsible Growth for Treasure Valley’s Future.”

Speakers included local and national authorities on economic development, technology and education. themes included air and water issues, land use and transportation, local government funding and how higher education pertains to economic development.

Chamber Vice President of Governmental Affairs Ray Stark said the conference was held in Sun Valley during the off season to provide a retreat setting with more casual, relaxed attire and the freedom to focus on the theme.

Local business sponsors covered the speaker fees, allowing regional and national leaders to address the group. “The conference provides opportunity for relationship-building among business and elected officials … and the opportunity to learn together on topics that pertain to the future of the Treasure Valley,” Stark said.

The one-hour broadcasts will air at 11 a.m. Thursdays in May and June and will be repeated at 7 p.m. the following Saturdays.

The schedule is as follows:
