Idaho Voices for Diversity Holding Annual Concert
Idaho Voices for Diversity is holding its spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, June 8, at the Morrison Center Recital Hall. Admission to the concert is free.
The performance will include original arrangements, spirituals and a special piece honoring Martin Luther King, Jr., “I Have a Dream.” The concert will also feature a guest appearance by folk singer Dani.
Choir director Carol Matthews described the group’s music as upbeat, thoughtful and accessible, with a strong community emphasis.“We do concerts that are focused around human rights and diverse lifestyles, singing for community,” said Matthews.
The 25-member choir, part of Boise State’s Community Outreach Program, sang for the Martin Luther King, Jr. festivities at the Idaho Statehouse earlier this year, and they are scheduled to appear at the Anne Frank Memorial dedication ceremony.
