‘United We Sing’ – An Evening of Eclectic Music May 22-23
The Boise Choristers will present their 61st annual spring concert “United We Sing” May 22-23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Morrison Center Recital Hall. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted and will benefit music scholarships at Boise State University.
The concert will open with French and English art songs and “Just a Closer Walk with Thee,” accompanied by a brass ensemble. The second set will be a patriotic set and will include a tribute to the United States Armed Forces. There will also be a presentation of historical flags.
The final set, which will be performed in costume, will take viewers back to the 1950’s with Elvis Presley, poodle skirts, rock and roll and a soda fountain setting.
Boise State music students Deniza Pop, pianist, and David Cole, tenor, will also participate in the concert. Pop and Cole were recipients of the 2001-02 scholarships given in memory of longtime Chorister member Frances Groves.
Founded in 1919, the Choristers continue to provide music for the community while assisting aspiring musicians financially. For more information call 426-3980.
