New Boise State Students Are Invited to Join Wilderness Adventure
Campus Recreation is hosting Wilderness Quest 2002, a unique orientation opportunity that unites new Boise State University students in a five-day adventure backpacking, rock climbing and whitewater rafting in the Idaho wilderness, Monday, Aug. 19, to Friday, Aug. 23.
The trek, led by current Boise State students and the Outdoor Center staff, helps incoming freshmen and transfer students get acquainted with other students and the college environment. Participants will learn wilderness travel skills and develop friendships that will ease the transition into college life.
The fee is $175 per person and covers transportation, instruction and on-trail food. Cooking gear, tents and rafting and climbing equipment will be provided. Some backpacks and sleeping bags will be available for an additional $20 rental charge.
Registration ends Aug. 2. Registration forms are available at the Outdoor Center or online at http://www.boisestate.edu/recreation/outdoor/special_events_wq2002.htm. For more information, call 426-2628.
