The Boise Philharmonic’s Treasure Valley Youth
Symphony will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Boise State
University Special Events Center. This select group is comprised of outstanding
high school and college musicians chosen through an audition process. A number
of students from the Youth Symphony have gone on to play with the Philharmonic.
The program will include the "Rosamund"
overture by Franz Schubert, "Symphony Number 88 in G Major" by Josef
Haydn, "Variations on a Theme by Haydn," by Johannes Brahms and
"Flute Concerto in G Major" by W. A. Mozart, featuring flute soloist
Trena Anderson, a junior at Eagle High School.
David Saunders, a music professor at Boise State,
is the music director and conductor of the Youth Symphony.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for Boise State
faculty and staff and $2 for students, at the door. For more information call
