NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR FOUNDERS’ LEADERSHIP
SOCIETY
Boise State University faculty, staff, students and alumni
are invited to submit nominations for the Founders’ Leadership Society class
of 2003. Nominations will be accepted until Feb. 15.
The Founders’ Leadership Society was established in 2002
to recognize graduating students for their outstanding leadership involvement,
both on campus and in the community. Induction into the prestigious society will
provide students with opportunities to mentor other students and to participate
in meaningful activities to enhance their personal and professional leadership
growth beyond graduation.
"Boise State needs a society like this that gives
student leaders an avenue to carry their leadership skills into their new role
as alumni," said Lee Denker, executive director of the Boise State Alumni
Association. "I look forward to working with them and providing meaningful
opportunities for them to remain involved with the university and the many
friends that they made here."
Ken Rock, vice president of the Associated Students of
Boise State University, noted that the society will create new opportunities for
students. "It will allow us to build connections that will extend beyond
the confines of the university. Not only will these connections follow us
wherever life takes us, they will also ensure that we will always have a place
here," he said.
Society members will be invited to meet annually for
learning and networking opportunities. The goal is to develop a network of
leaders with ties to Boise State. Criteria for the award include leadership
skills, commitment to service, an appreciation for diversity and academic
achievement.
