RELIGIOUS POLITICS THE THEME OF COMMUNITY DISCUSSION

Andrew Rice will make a presentation and lead an open discussion on "Religious Politicization and our Communities" from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6. The event will be held at the Hyde Park Mennonite Fellowship at 1520 N. 12th St. and is open to the public. Admission is a donation to cover the cost of the room.

Rice, of Houston, Texas, is a member of Peaceful Tomorrows and speaks regularly as a proponent for a restorative non-violent response to 9-11. He works for the non-profit "Texas Freedom Network," which counters the influence of religious extremism on politics and organizes religious leaders to speak out in favor of compassionate and inclusive democratic communities.
