BOISE STATE EVENTS FOCUS ON PLIGHT OF HOMELESS
PEOPLE
The Volunteer Services Board at Boise State University is
planning two events in March to shed light on the plight of homeless people.
Both events are free and open to the general public.
From 8 a.m.-5 p.m. March 10-14 visitors are invited to
view images of homelessness and hunger through a photographic exhibit. The
"Forgotten Faces" display will be in the Fireplace Lounge of the
Student Union, across from Moxie Java.
"Live in Shack City" will be held March 12-14 in
the Quad in front of the Administration Building. Pledges will be taken on
behalf of the homeless by students willing to brave the elements and sleep on
the Quad for three nights and four days. Food, clothing and blanket donations
will also be collected for local shelters.
For more information or to volunteer for the "Live in
Shack City" event, contact Theresa Jenkins at 426-4240.
