Millions of children have been orphaned around
the world. Each year, poverty, political reform and tragic circumstances
continue to fuel the orphan crisis. Meanwhile, six million people of
childbearing age in the United States alone struggle to become pregnant, many
unsuccessfully.
A quintet of five world-renowned musicians, two
of which were discovered by Isaac Stern, join CASI Foundation For
Children in their efforts to help orphaned children. The Orphaned Children’s
Benefit Concert will be held from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at the Boise
State University Special Events Center, where 438 seats will be sold at $50-$200
a seat. This formal event’s goal is to raise $40,000 for CASI’s
children. One hundred percent of the seat sales will be contributed to the
parentless children who wait for a family to call their own, and a portion of
the ticket purchase is tax deductible.
CASI
Foundation For Children is committed to bringing families together through
adoption and improving the life of orphaned children worldwide. As a non-profit
humanitarian organization, CASI Foundation For Children has touched the
lives of thousands of otherwise hopeless children. CASI is led by a board
of seven directors, who have each retired and dedicated their lives to children
who need their help and have contributed more than $1 million towards building
futures for these children.
The benefit concert is co-sponsored by the Boise
State University music department, with assistance from music department
chairman and pianist James Cook, a published composer and one of the talented
quintet donating their time. Other musicians include Neil Gu, a visiting
professor at Boise State, violist and vice president of CASI’s
Humanitarian Efforts and board member; Gregg Anderson, adoptive parent and
violinist who has played in symphonies including the Naples Philharmonic,
Columbus Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic; Ming Gao, violinist,
concertmaster of the Naples Philharmonic and veteran member of several other
symphonies, and who has performed around the world; and Si-Cheng Liu, cellist,
private music teacher and member of several orchestras who has also played
across the globe.
Tickets can be purchased at CASI
Foundation For Children, 2308 N. Cole Rd, Suite E, Boise or charged by phone at
