CUTTING-EDGE EXTREME SPORTS VIDEOS FEATURED AT FOURTH ANNUAL EVENT

Win free outdoor gear and enjoy the newest, adrenaline-charged and daring sports films of the year at the fourth annual Sawtooth Mountain Film Festival at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, in the Boise State University Special Events Center. This year�s films feature kayaking, mountain biking, base jumping, kite boarding, snowboarding and even unicycling. Big industry names and independent first-timers are showcased demonstrating their talent, skill and courage in a variety of outdoor extreme sports.

The film festival is a fund-raiser for the Boise State Outdoor Center. Tickets are $5 pre-purchased or $7 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Outdoor Program office in the new Student Recreation Center during their business hours, 1-7 p.m. Monday-Sunday.

The following films will be shown:

"Dirt Divas," produced by Jungfrau Films, is a 15-minute documentary giving an in-depth look at the sport of women�s mountain biking.

"Valhalla," produced by Teton Gravity Research, is a short segment that features extreme kayaking in the waterfalls of Norway.

"White Trax," produced by Black and White Productions, features the first descent of Whistler Backcomb on a unicycle!

"Base Jump Baffin Island" shows some of the world�s most daring BASE jumpers exploring the frozen fjords and 4,000 foot cliffs of Baffin Island.

"Aerated," produced by Scott Lundgren Productions, is a showcase of Scott Lundgren�s latest kayaking achievements, like first descents and Indonesian kayak surfing.

"Four Play," produced by Treetop Films, is a short film featuring a snowboarding exploration of the pristine backcountry of British Columbia.

"San Francisco Chronicles," produced by Sandy Olney, features the latest craze of kite boarding.

 

Dozens of outdoor gear items will be given away as raffle prizes. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The film festival is sponsored by the Boise State Outdoor Center, Arbiter, K2 Sports, Smith Optics, Evogear.com, Clif Bar, Dagger, Digital Farm and Patagonia.
