BERTICE BERRY TO GIVE THE KEYNOTE ADDRESS FOR
WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
Bertice Berry, the award-winning entertainer, lecturer and
comedienne, will give the keynote address for Women’s History Month, as well
as wrap up Black History Month events, at 7 p.m. March 6 at the Boise State
University Special Events Center. As she does with all of her lectures, Berry
will use local issues and concerns, as well as national and global themes, to
tailor her speech to the Boise audience.
Berry believes that community involvement is not limited
to just "writing a check" and has taken a very active role in
supporting organizations that benefit those in need. She has donated all of the
royalties from the sales of her books to organizations that help families of
terminally-ill children, raise funds for orphanages and provide resource
information to low-income families
Berry was the host and co-executive producer of her own
nationally syndicated talk show and hosted "USA Live." She’s been
featured on numerous other television programs, including "The Oprah
Winfrey Show," "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," and "BET
Live" with Tavis Smiley.
This event is co-sponsored by the Boise State Cultural
Center and Hewlett-Packard. Women’s History Month strives to celebrate the
triumphs and accomplishments of ordinary women doing extraordinary things. For a
